The Dynamic Blind Bidding System

Divide belongings,
not families.

DYBBS gives every family member the same say. Photograph what's in the house, invite everyone, and let a private bidding round settle who receives what — calmly, and on the record.

Private bids

No one sees another person's choices until the round closes.

Equal footing

Everyone receives the same number of points to spend.

Written record

A clear, exportable summary the whole family can read.

How it works

Four steps. No negotiating in hallways.

Everything is designed to be read easily and done once. If you can take a photo on your phone, you can run a division.

  1. 1

    List it

Photograph each item. We name, describe and value it for you.

  2. 2

    Share it

Invite family by email. Everyone sees the same list at the same time.

  3. 3

    Bid privately

Equal points each. Nobody sees another person's bids.

  4. 4

    Finish it

Export who receives what, with photos and values attached.

“80% of families believe they won't have conflict when dividing personal property. 80% of that 80% do.”

Julie Hall, estate expert and author. When there's no clear system, tension grows quickly — especially when sentimental value is involved.

Relief is the word people use afterwards

“Four siblings, one house, and thirty years of things nobody had talked about. Doing it privately online meant nobody had to argue in the kitchen. We finished in three weeks and we're still speaking.”

Margaret H.

Executor, Ohio

“I was dreading this more than anything else in the settlement. Having someone neutral set up the rounds took the whole weight off me — I stopped being the person who decided everything.”

David R.

Trustee, California

“We could not be in the same room, and we did not have to be. Each of us went through the list on our own time and the result was something our attorneys could simply attach to the file.”

Questions families ask first

What exactly is DYBBS?

DYBBS is the Dynamic Blind Bidding System — an online service for listing, sharing and fairly dividing personal property. Families use it for estates, divorce settlements and downsizing, and anyone can use the inventory tools on their own.

Do I need to be good with computers?

No. If you can take a photo on a phone and send an email, you can run a division. The screens use large, readable type, one task at a time, and you can call us at any point and we'll walk through it with you.

How long does a division take?

Most families finish in two to four weeks. The inventory is the longest part; the bidding rounds themselves usually take a few days because everyone takes part in their own time.

Can family members in other places take part?

Yes. Everyone takes part online from wherever they are, and they all see exactly the same list at the same time. Nobody has to travel or be in the same room.
